Our society is seeing dramatic changes as a result of digitalisation. In Digital Business & Media, we study how digital innovations can be successfully implemented and have a positive impact on society. Our focus is consistently on the human side of digitalisation, since technological trends only become important when people put them to use.
Our research focusses on the human side of digitalisation, and specifically the behaviour of the user or end user. Each of the research groups working within this theme contributes specific expertise – so that together, we can tackle issues relating to digital transformation in a multidisciplinary approach.

We collaborate in a variety of alliances with partners in business services and the creative sector, the public sector, knowledge institutions and government agencies. We prefer to focus on long-term partnerships. Our research questions are grounded in practice. As a result, our research not only yields scientific knowledge but also insights and applications that have a direct relevance to today’s professional practice. Research groups play an important role in the development and substantive elaboration of bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes. For example, in 2018, we launched the successful master’s degree programme in Data Driven Design. We are also working on the development of the Data Driven Business master’s degree programme and master’s degree programmes in Marketing, Communication and Finance.
