Stijn Verhagen (1975) enjoys tackling social issues that are often currently at the centre of people's attention. He studied social sciences, obtained his doctorate at Utrecht University and worked at the Council for Social Development, an advisory council for the government.
He has been professor at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2007. Initially, he was an associate professor in Participation and Social Development, and is now professor by special appointment for Participation and Urban Development, alongside Prof. Nico de Vos. In addition to being a professor, Stijn is the director of the Institute for Ecological Educational Theory at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.
